It’s time to book summer vacation! A little extra parameter this year: you are pregnant… You don’t want to stay at home, you really want to leave! What destination is chosen when you are pregnant? How to combine comfort, safety and travel when you are pregnant? Here are some tips to find the vacation that will suit you best.
HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR DESTINATION?
It may be prudent to do this depending on the stage of your pregnancy and the shape you are in. Before you leave, we recommend a short visit to your doctor.
IN THE 1ST QUARTER
The first trimester is often the most difficult with its share of hormonal upheavals, the nausea that appear, fatigue and stress that are felt. So just rest and get your strength back. Why not a small cottage in the countryside, in a remote corner in the middle of nature where everything would be quiet and relaxing or a camping site on the farm enjoying the good local produce. A few bike rides to discover nice places, a total change of scenery to disconnect and prepare your body and mind for this new maternity. Do not travel too long in the car, beware of shaking and the risk of early contractions that can lead to miscarriage.
IN THE 2ND QUARTER
Second trimester: you feel great. You’re still a little slim. This is the perfect time to enjoy it. If you’re a big fan of the sea and waves, there’s no question of getting on the surfboard or jet-skiing. Swim, take walks along the beach – good natural seawater thalasso for the legs and laze on the warm sand. Don’t forget your very high protection sunscreen otherwise beware of the pregnancy mask (those ugly brown spots on the face). Take the opportunity to read or daydream. You can also concoct you a small week of thalasso while visiting the chosen place (Brittany, Basque Country, Ile de Ré)
If you want cultural visits or beautiful historical sites, why not choose some beautiful European cities, (Barcelona, Seville, Porto, Brussels, Salzburg) quickly accessible by plane (airlines accept pregnant women up to 7 months of pregnancy). Take a hotel club formula with swimming pool, restaurant, excursions included and let yourself be guided or simply our beautiful PARIS which abound in museums and exhibitions.
Think of the mountains. There too you will be able to alternate relaxation and a little sport by making beautiful excursions. Moreover it is the ideal place to get oxygen. Indeed, the altitude and the air of the mountain increase the production of hemoglobin in the blood which allows a better oxygenation of your body. All our mountain ranges open their arms to you.
IN THE 3RD QUARTER
The third trimester: no madness, it is relaxation and absolute calm. Swimming is always welcome. It will relax all your muscles and prepare your body for delivery. Depending on the term of your pregnancy, do not leave too far from the place where you are due to give birth, or else ask about the proximity of a maternity ward to your holiday destination. You never know, it’s because baby is scheduled for August 1st that he won’t arrive on July 14th! This is the final stretch, take advantage of it more than ever to relax, relax and be pampered. All-in-one rental where there’s nothing to do.
STAY IN A DISTANT COUNTRY: (AFRICA, ISLANDS, ASIA…)
Why not if all is well, but not after 7 months1/2 (airlines no longer accept in case of premature delivery) Some precautions to take before leaving. Information on compulsory vaccines because they will be impossible pregnant on diseases that could rage in this country. Don’t drink anything but mineral water and watch what you eat. If you take a long-haul flight, remember to wear compression socks and travel regularly on the plane.
In short, you have understood that being pregnant is not a disease! So listen to your desires while you spare yourself and rest and especially by enjoying a maximum of this moment in love before the arrival of baby. Then it’s another story… Have a nice vacation!
